Things to do on Your Oahu Honeymoon

Out of all of the beautiful spots around the world that are perfect for a honeymoon, Hawaii usually tops the list for most people. I mean when you really think about, what is there not to love about visiting Hawaii for your honeymoon. Amazing weather? Check! Romantic Atmosphere? Check! Great activities to do? Check! Out of all of the Hawaiian islands, the most visited by travelers is Oahu. Oahu is the main Hawaiian island home to its international airport as well as the states capitol. Some reasons why most people decide on Oahu as their destination for their honeymoon is because it offers a lot more things to do while visiting as well as it being cheaper as compared to other islands like Maui and Kauai. If you are thinking about taking your honeymoon to Oahu and were interested in some romantic things you and your partner can do together, these are some of our favorite things.

On the island of Oahu, if you are into nature one thing that you will enjoy doing on your honeymoon is checking out some of the many hiking trails. Some of my personal favorites are Diamond Head as well as Koko Head. You would think that Hawaii being more of a city that there wouldn’t be great places to go hiking and see amazing views of the island but there are many. If you decide to go hiking on Oahu, make sure that you are safe and don’t go on trails that are closed off. Over the last couple of years hikers have tried to go hiking on trails that have been closed off by the city, like Stairway to Heaven, and end up getting seriously hurt or dying due to it not being safe so make sure you stick to trails that are safe.

Another fun activity that you can do with your partner while honeymooning on Oahu is going out to a romantic dinner for two. The thing Oahu has as compared to the other islands is great restaurants. From unbelievable seafood restaurants to places to eat a great steak, you will most likely find what you are craving on Oahu. If you are looking for a great restaurant with a romantic atmosphere and amazing food and have a car rental, I recommend heading to Hawaii Kai and eating at Roy’s. There is a Roy’s restaurant in Waikiki but the one in Hawaii Kai I feel is so much more romantic. Here you can have some of the most amazing foods you will ever taste while looking out into the ocean and seeing an amazing sunset. If you do decide to eat here, make sure you make a reservation early on as this place does get busy.

For your honeymoon in Oahu, you can also consider taking a helicopter tour of the island so you get to see all of its natural beauty from a different angle. On my last trip to Oahu, my husband and I took one of these helicopter tours and it was amazing. On this flight we were able to see some amazing waterfalls as well as a great view of Diamond Head. I will admit that this activity is a little pricey to do but if you can do it, I highly recommend it.

So there you have, these are just some of the many things you can do while taking your honeymoon to Oahu.
