For celebrating an anniversary, a lot of couples like to get away to some place romantic to spend time with their significant other. I know for me and my husband, whenever we celebrate a big year for our anniversary, we like to drop off our kids with my parents and visit some place romantic. With the craziness of daily life with your job and dealing with your kids, it is sometimes nice to go on a vacation with just the two of you. For planning your romantic vacation though, one of the more important things that you will have to decide on is the destination. There are so many great places to visit that it can sometimes be hard picking the right spot. If you are thinking about going some place exotic to celebrate your anniversary, here are some of my favorite places to visit.
When it comes to one of the most romantic places in the world, can you really beat Hawaii? Hawaii is well known for offering amazing weather as well as many different islands to visit. In regards to which island is best for a romantic getaway, my favorite has to be Maui. Maui is the most expensive island to visit in Hawaii but if you can afford it, it is well worth. Unlike the more popular Waikiki, Maui is a lot more laid back and the beaches aren’t crowded with people. Maui is home to a lot of great luxury resorts especially in Wailea that are frequented by many celebrities. For couples looking to reconnect, one of the great things about Maui is the fact that there are a lot of different activities you can do together. While the other Hawaiian Islands are great for a vacation, Maui is the perfect spot for an anniversary trip.
Another spot that I enjoy visiting for a romantic anniversary vacation is St. Lucia. St Lucia may not be a well known destination when it comes to romantic spots to visit, but I personally think it is one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets. I have been lucky enough to visit St. Lucia a couple of times for a vacation and have had a blast on each trip. For couples, one of the things that you will enjoy doing is visiting one of the many great restaurants located here that are perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Another thing that I enjoy about St Lucia is that there are usually pretty good deals on vacation packages to here that allows me to save and be able to afford doing other activities while visiting.
A third spot that you can consider for your anniversary getaway is Los Cabos. Los Cabos is a great beach destination located in Mexico that just oozes romance. In Cabo, you can find a lot of great resorts that you can stay at that also offer first class spas. I know visiting a beach spot for a vacation is relaxing enough, but if you decide to get a couples massage, there are a lot of great places you can visit here.
With there being so many great spots for a romantic getaway, the key is finding the spot that offers the things you want to do while on vacation.
