Playa Norte

Although there are lots of beautiful beaches around Isla Mujeres, Playa Norte is the most beautiful of all. Also known as North Beach, Playa Norte was ranked at No. 7 in the TripAdvisor’s Travelers Choice awards for the year 2017, and was the only Mexican beach to make the list. The beach is famous for its’ crystal clear turquoise calm waters, fine white sands, rustling palm trees and a laid back ambiance. Playa Norte actually owes its’ pristine perfection to its’ sheltered location, and is tucked away from strong winds and rough ocean currents.

Although it can at times get crowded, it’s the best beach to go with your children, because the water is shallow and very calm. This characteristic makes its’ waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Along this stretch of beach, you can also rent all kinds of water toys, snorkeling gear, kayaks, lounge chairs and even beach umbrellas. In addition to this, there are numerous thatched roof (palapa) bars and restaurants which will bring food and drinks to you spot on the gorgeous beach.

There is no doubt you will fall in love with Playa Norte, right from the moment you step on its’ fine white sands. Its’ calm waters, spectacular landscape, and laid back ambiance are unmatched, and will definitely leave you wanting more.
