What to Expect on a Cruise Vacation

What to Expect on a Cruise Vacation

Cruise Vacation

One great option for your vacation is to go on a cruise. A cruise really does offer it all, where you can do so many different things on a beautiful ship. A friend of mine just recently took his first cruise ever and he loved it. For his cruise, he visited Alaska with Royal Caribbean. Before he actually went on the cruise, he was a little hesitant about going, as he thought there wasn’t going to be anything for him to do but just sit in his room and see the ocean.  After a little push from his wife, he agreed to go and is grateful that he did, as he had one of the best vacations he ever had. If you’ve never been on a cruise before and were wondering what to expect while on one, here are some of the most common things you can do while on one of these trips.

I think one of the biggest fears for some people when they think about going on a cruise is the fact that they will be stuck on a boat the entire time and feel cramped in. This is far from the case as now a days a lot of these ships are huge with there being a lot of room for you to do different things. Also while on your cruise, you will most likely stop at different ports in the area where you can get off the ship and try different activities. For my friend, one of the favorites things he did on the cruise was going rafting at one of the ports. While on this rafting expedition, he was able to see a lot of different wildlife like bald eagles.

Another thing you can expect from a cruise vacation is great food. When you book a cruise package, your meals are usually included, so you don’t have to worry about paying for them. You do have to pay for your drinks and just to let you know, this is where they make their money so don’t be shocked when you hear the price. Getting back to the food though, most cruise ships offer multiple dining options where you can try a different cuisine every night. You should check with the cruise line beforehand to see if you need to make reservations at any of the restaurants as some do get very busy, especially during popular eating hours.

A third thing that you can expect on a cruise is great entertainment. Most cruise ships nowadays have theaters were they hold all types of performances that you can enjoy for free. These shows are really well done and I recommend checking some out if you have the time. While on your cruise trip, you can also enjoy gambling as well as most ships offer a casino. I know when we went on our cruise a couple years back, my husband spent a lot of time here. On the cruise ship, there are usually other forms of entertainment like night clubs and one of my favorites bingo games that you can enjoy as well.

If you have never been on a cruise before, I highly recommend considering one for your next getaway.
