Traveling in Luxury for a Cheap Price

For the type of vacation most people would like to go on, a majority of them would say a luxury vacation. I mean what is not to love about traveling first class all the way with staying at 5 star resorts, eating at some of the best restaurants and being pampered during your entire trip. Before I had my kids, these are the types of vacation packages I would take with my husband, as it was so different from what our lives were back home where we don’t do much and pretty much stay at home all the time. If you want to take a luxury vacation, but think you can’t because you are unable to afford it, don’t worry, as there are things that you can do that can help you save, so you can book one of these trips.

What my husband and I liked to do to help us afford a luxury travel package was going all inclusive. I know I have talked about all inclusive packages quite a bit on this blog, but if you are able to book one I highly recommend doing it. For instance on a trip a while back to the Riviera Maya, we stayed at the 5 star resort, Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun, and were able to book an all inclusive package for our stay. With this package, we not only got a discount on our room rate, but we also got to eat for free at the restaurants at this resort. I know some of you may be thinking that the food served here must be cheap, but that is far from the case. Each restaurant at this resort has a different theme with each one creating world class dishes.

Another way you can afford the luxury vacation you have always dreamed about is traveling when no one else wants to travel. This all goes back to supply and demand, with more people wanting to visit a destination the more the price will be. One thing that we did one year that helped us find a great deal on a package was to travel to the Caribbean during the end of summer. Some of you might think that prices are more expensive during this time as people love visiting beach destinations during the Summer, but the rates were actually cheaper. The reason for this is that during this time it is hurricane season and a lot of people don’t want to travel then.

You can also save on your luxury travel by visiting destinations that aren’t as popular and places where your dollar can stretch. There are some destinations that have some of the nicest resorts, but might be in areas that are difficult to reach or people don’t want to visit. Even though these types of destinations may not be as popular with vacationers, they are still a great place to visit and you can save a lot. Just a couple of weeks ago, my friend and his wife took a trip to Bali and they were able to book a villa at a 5 star resort that had its own pool for the same price as what you would pay for a basic hotel room at spots like Maui.

While luxury vacations may be a little more expensive, there are certainly things you can do to help you save on them.
