Activities to do While on a Riviera Maya Vacation

Activities Riviera Maya

When on a Riviera Maya vacation, one thing that you’ll quickly notice is that there are so many activities available to try and do. While on vacation you won’t be trapped in a resort desert here; in Riviera Maya you’ll be able to have it all. Go out and explore the sugar powder beaches and pale water seas and relax. If you want to get more adventurous, you can go on aqua tours and see all the best dive spots in the Cancun area. You can explore the Mayan ruins of Tulum by day and go raving there until the sun comes up at night. Riviera Maya is one of those rare versatile places that gives you everything you need to have a great time, and everything you need to relax. In the Riviera Maya, you’ll find great spas with a Mayan twist that offer ancient techniques guaranteed to relax and renew your spirit.

Find the Beaches

There are so many different beaches alongside the coasts of Riviera Maya, all you have to do is go out and find them! Two of the top ten beaches in north America can be found here, and their white sands are renowned for their beauty and warmth. All year round you can lie upon their faces, enjoying the warm sun beaming down on you and giving you an inner glow that can’t be beaten!

Swimming the Seas

Since the Riviera Maya is part of both the Gulf and the Caribbean, you’ll be able to get just about everything you need to have a great time here! You can enjoy the warm shallow wading coasts where you can play with beach balls and friends or take your children out, or you can find rougher waters to get a more adventurous experience out in the water. You can even go surfing off Isla Mujeras (Island of Women) off the coast facing the Atlantic.

Snorkeling along the beautiful coral reefs is a popular thing to try out, but watch your fingers! Coral can be extremely sharp, and the soft fish that navigate it have learned to avoid it’s bite. Another Riviera Maya activity to tryout is taking a glass bottomed boat out and look at the sea life below, or go kite surfing in the windier parts that will let you sail smoothly across the water, dancing on it’s surface. It’s a feeling you’d never believe, you have to try it!

Exploring the Land

There are many interesting ancient ruins in the area. Rio Secreto (the River of Secrets) goes deep down underground into the limestone caverns that open your eyes up to an whole new world! You can also find the interesting Mayan ruins at Tulum, where you can look upon the past and wonder about what kinds of people could have built such wonders in times very different from our own.

This is just a sampling of what awaits you in Riviera Maya; you’ll also find many spas, clubs, shopping and more here. When you’re looking for the best of Mexico and the Caribbean, you’ll find it here!
