Tips for Finding Summer Vacation Deals

With us being half way through April already, it means a lot of families are thinking about their Summer vacation plans and where they want to go. Families can go to the more obvious family vacation spots like Disney World or maybe they want a beach vacation in Hawaii. Wherever they decide to go, they can most likely expect to pay more as compared to traveling during other seasons. The Summer months, being June, July and August, are very popular times for travel as kids are out of school and with this the prices are higher due to the increase in demand. This Summer my family and I are going to Disneyland in California and we paid close to double for the same trip we took back in October. If you’re looking to take a Summer vacation and want to find the best deals, here are something’s that can help you save.

When it comes to booking your airfare, a lot of people don’t know this but the day you book it can help save you money. In a recent report done by FareCompare, they said the best time to book your airfare is on a Tuesday at 3pm. While other reports don’t agree on the same exact time, usually if you book your airfare on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, there is a good chance that you could save. Another way you can save on your airfare is to try and avoid flying on the weekends. This is the most popular time to travel and with this the prices will be more. You can also save by taking flights at bad times like early morning flights or red eyes and you can also take flights with stopovers as most people don’t want to book these types of flights.

Another way that you can save on your Summer vacation especially if you’re traveling with your family is to look into vacation packages. The ones that you should consider booking are all inclusive packages that include a lot of different things like your resort stay, meal plans, activities and more for a discounted. Not every destination offer these types of deals but this is a great way to save on your vacation as you’ll never have to pay for anything while you’re at the resort you’re staying at. When I travel with my family, I always look for these types of packages as it is a great way to save and allows you to spend your money on other things while on your trip.

A third way you can save on your Summer travel is to try and avoid the more popular destinations. I know you would love to travel to spots like Disney World and Hawaii but if you have a tight budget you should consider other places that offer similar things but are less expensive. For instance if you’re hoping to have your feet in the sand this Summer, you could consider destinations like Riviera Maya in Mexico or Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic that can offer you everything you want out of a beach vacation but for a cheaper price.

A fourth tip that can help you save for your Summer trip is to book your vacation with a travel agent. Now a days a lot of vacationers go to the bigger online travel sites and try to book their trips themselves but this isn’t always the best way to save. When you work with a travel agent, they can go over your budget with you and also listen to what type of trip you want and provide you with feedback on what types of trips you can take.

Summer is always one of more favorite times because I love going on vacation with my family as I enjoy spending time with my kids and doing these things can help you save on it.
