Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa Review Barbara M., Sayreville, New Jersey October 19, 2012 Resort Overall :  The Luau in Old Lahaina was good and the one at Hyatt Regency was also good. My husband like the food better at the Drums of the Pacific at our Hotel. Room :  The room we had gave us a view of the pool, gardens and the ocean. It was really great at night when we were able to take sunset pictures from our balconey. Pools :  The swimming pool was fantastic. It had a grotto in a cave area where you could get drinks. Every afternoon and morning they also had water aerobics. They had a huge slide that was in a tube but you couldn't see anything as you were coming down. The only problem was by the kiddie pool. They had small rocks around it and when you stepped on them, they really hurt your foot. I had foot surgery in July and I had to make sure I had on my shoes because they hurt so much. Beach :  The beach was nice but I couldn't stay in the water because the current kept pulling me and there were some rocks in it which caused by husband to cut his foot. Resort Activities :  Restaurants and Bars :  The food was very expensive and the drinks were not that good. For three of us one day it cost $96 for three sandwiches and three drinks which I thought was outrageous. When we arrived the first night it was quite late so we went down fo Umalu's for something to eat and we had pizza which was terrible. It tasted freezer burn and that was exactly what it was. A frozen pizza and again the price was outragious. The only thing that was good was the morning buffet in Swan Court. Breakfast was $26 P/P without tax and tip. Nightlife :  Excursions :  We did the Atlantis submarine which was O.K. and Mt. Halualeka which my husband loved but you need to do some walking on this if you want to see everything. I couldn't do the walking since I was having a problem with my foot from the surgery. Tips: Bring plenty of money
