Visit Turks and Caicos

The Turks and Caicos Islands might sound like a couple of islands, but there are actually over 40 different islands and cays (tiny islands) and most of these are uninhabited wildlife refuges or come alive during the day for different excursions and activities. If you’re looking for a vacation that’s rich in both natural beauty and all the best of the Caribbean, you’ll find that Turks and Caicos is the place to go! With regular boats leaving the main islands to the minor islands, you can explore many a day so you can enjoy all of the islands. When you’re looking for a secluded beautiful spot, you can always find them among the five star all-inclusive resort hotels that dot the coastline; from exploration to diving and a more laid back taste of the Caribbean, the Turks and Caicos Islands are a great place to start!

Nightlife in Turks and Caicos

Gambling is the mainstay of the Turks and Caicos Islands, but there are also many pubs out there that are great to relax in. You won’t find the big clubs here like you would in Jamaica, so it’s an excellent place to have a relaxing and laid back vacation. The casinos here are beautiful and glittering, where you can test your luck and see how it goes! Each has a club and bar within, but are more reflective of the laid back atmosphere of this part of the Caribbean. The Casablanco Casino has 85 different slot machines, Blackjack, Poker and of course roulette.

Activities to do

First, the diving here is the most gentle compared to the other turbulent parts of the Caribbean, so it’s great for new divers or those who want to take it easy. There are many beaches here that are quite beautiful, and you’ll never have to deal with crowds. The Caicos Conch Farm shows you how conch pearls are made, and you can even have lunch here with what’s quickly becoming known as “Caribbean Escargot”. Also remember to go whale watching with great photo opportunities and see JoJo the dolphin; he’s been swimming around the islands since 1980 and is a bit of a local celebrity!

Dining Options

Excellent dining options are all over the islands, and you’ll find everything from inexpensive delis with scenic overlooks of the cays to the indulgent Anacaona Restaurant. The Hemingway’s on the Beach is a casual dining restaurant right on the beach front with delicious and creative meals. You’ll find a good selection of British pubs that are a left over vestige of the colonization earlier on; you’ll also find the Sharkbite Bar and Grill where you can get a taste of real sharks! Pizza, hamburgers and other American fare are available if you’re looking for a taste of home, and of course there’s seafood! Here you can eat fresh lobster tails cooked to perfection in butter for the best indulgent treat, without the market prices you may pay back home.

The average temperature ranges between 75 and 85°F. From June to October, the temperature can reach into the 90’s, especially in the late summer months. A constant trade wind keeps the climate at a very comfortable level.

TURKS AND CAICOS DINING

When looking for dining options in Turks and Caicos, you’ll find over a 100 different options to satisfy your palate! If you’re adventurous, try out some fresh conch meat straight from the shell or prepared in creative and exciting dishes. Eat fresh Caribbean pastries from the Caicos Bakery, or go wine tasting at the Magnolia Wine Bar and try out their dinners and desserts while you drink! The Mango Reef will give you delicious seafood with a twist, and the Jack Shack offers patrons a taste of home with real American style cuisine. Try out some international cuisine with a Caribbean twist at Plunge, and go for tacky chic with the Tiki hut where you can get chicken or ribs for just $12! When you’re looking for the ideal destination wedding location, you know that you have to have some of the best food options available, especially when you have picky people in your wedding party (including you!); Turks and Caicos give you all the deliciousness you’ll find throughout the Caribbean, but without all the hustle and bustle of the other islands.

Locally Owned Restaurants

Like mentioned earlier, there’s a lot of different conch restaurants that take advantage of their best resources. While we’re used to thinking of the shells, and not thinking of the meat, it’s a delicious food and is fast becoming known as “Caribbean Escargot”. You can get great Conch Salad at ‘Da Conch Shack and Rum Bar’; Daniel’s Café serves some of the best native cuisine on the island. The Hole in the Wall serves delicious Jamaican Jerk style foods, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try out the Matsuri Sushi Bar for a new take on sushi from a Caribbean point of view!

Check out the Resorts

Some of the best restaurants on the island are inside the resorts, and you can’t discount them! Usually, you want to go as far outside the resort zone as possible, but many of the resorts here are locally run so you’ll get the taste of Turks and Caicos without having to try out 100 different restaurants to get an authentic dining experience. Each resort will have a variety of options to choose from, so you’ll never be stuck eating the same thing night after night!

Eat Seafood

You’re on an island, and one of the best things about a Turks and Caicos destination wedding is the ability to eat tons and tons of seafood without having to pay all the extra costs that you would back home! You can eat conch, sea bass, and most of all LOBSTER! Lobster comes in regularly, and you can have it grilled right in front of you, beer battered and friend, and any other hundred ways that you’ve been wanting to try lobster.

Dining in the Turks and Caicos is both delicious and adventurous, and the best dining options are always just a few feet away! Enjoy a taste of paradise and a departure from the ordinary with a new meal every day.

TURKS AND CAICOS NIGHTLIFE

Nightlife in Turks and Caicos is as laidback as any of the other times that you would enjoy in the island, and not as crazy as something you would find on Aruba or Jamaica. Here you’ll find an abundance of Beach Shacks where you can eat fresh seafood and listen to live music. The casinos carve a path through the nightlife here, and you’ll find that your luck might streak here! There are many lounges, bars and sports bars here, which range from the loud to the quiet and even authentic Irish pubs to boot. There is a movie theater in Provo, but here it’s just all about relaxation. You’ll find a great time here making your own fun, with walks along moonlit beaches and of course lots of food and drink to while away a warm balmy Caribbean evening. When you’re looking for a destination wedding that is relaxing and lacks the crowds of the more frequented destinations, you’ll find Turks and Caicos is the best bet!

Get Lucky

With the three major casinos on the island, you can enjoy dinner and a show, or just trying your luck on one of the many tables or slot machines. Each has its own unique flavor; the Carib has Caribbean Poker, the Players Club has Blackjack and roulette, and the Casablanca Casino has baccarat. Most of the casinos are open until 5am and you can keep playing all night long! Like Vegas casinos, you might have a hard time finding a clock, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself walking out into a beautiful Caribbean sunrise!

Blue Hills Beach

Beach Shacks on Blue Hills Beach have great food, live entertainment and of course an ambience that you can’t beat. Each shack will have its own different foods that they prepare, so be sure to try a few of them so you get the whole experience!

Bars and Clubs

There are many beachside bars in Turks and Caicos, and you’ll find that each one has its own charm. See the fire pit at Grace Bay Club, and of course the Infinity Bar with a long black marble bar that serves tropical drinks, imports and of course domestic beers. Danny Buoy’s is a great authentic Irish Pub with darts and pool, and you can always find a great selection of Irish pub food as well as Jamaican foods that will tantalize your tongue and leave you wanting for more!

Nightlife in Turks and Caicos comes with a relaxed atmosphere with delicious foods, colorful drinks, and of course some of the friendliest people in all of the Caribbean. Why not spend your nights in the relaxed Turks and Caicos Islands for your vacation.
