If you’re looking for the best of the best, a great mix where North America meets South America, this is the right choice for you. You can go on zip line tours, eat sea urchins and arugula or a spicy fresh beef taco, and go hiking through beautiful hillside. Whatever you want to do here, you’ll find it. All you have to do is get out there and enjoy yourself! A Panama vacation isn’t all sand and sun though, and you’ll find even more fun things to do once the sun goes down. Here’s a taste of what’s waiting for you in Panama!
Activities
When you come to panama you’ll be able to explore everything that the land and seas can provide! If you’ve ever wanted to see the Caribbean without the big ticket price tag, Panama is the way to do it! Here you’ll be able to go across and island hop by day, exploring the coral reefs and eating all the delicious island food too! Take a zip line tour over the tropical rainforest canopy and brush your feet across the treetops for a view that few will ever witness. Go out into the forest and find the rare Quetzalcoatl with a guide so you can get pictures and really enjoy the beauty of Panama. But you can also go dining and enjoy the nightlife here too, so keep reading!
Dining
The capital is the BEST places to eat, hands down. You’ll be able to find a thriving fusion scene with all the great food you could ever want. If you’re looking for European style meals, you’ll pay a premium but if you choose the right restaurant it will be worth it. If you’re the guest of an all-inclusive resort you’ll also be able to get your meals included with the price of your stay, so make sure you take advantage of this! Each resort will have a variety of restaurants that serve great food and you won’t have to pay extra to enjoy yourself. With fresh sugar cane, fruits, vegetables, seafood and of course great selections of beef, you’ll want to make sure you try local restaurants too.
Nightlife
Nightlife in Panama is a great blend of Latin heat with salsa dancing and all the fun of a euro style experience. You’ll be able to enjoy a lot of island fun that’s come over from the Caribbean, and you’ll even find some great Hawaiian fire eaters if you know where to look. Nightlife in Panama is about as diverse as all of the countries it touches, so you’ll want to get outside and explore what’s there. One thing you should make sure you do is to travel in a group at night. Panama is safe, but it can get a little lively at night and it’s a good idea to travel around with friends.
The lowlands including Panama City average 80F-90F degrees during the day, and the highlands have spring-like temperatures year-round. Dry season is from mid-December through May and green season from May through Dec. (typically a shower in late afternoon).

PANAMA DINING
When you’re in Panama on vacation, you won’t have to look too far to find a great meal! Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner… or just a simple bite to eat between meals, you’ll find a taste of the extraordinary as well as a little sample of things you know from home when you miss it. One of the best things Panama has to offer is its seafood and meat and rice dishes; their unique blend of spices and sauces will blow you away for something that appears oh so simple. Take in a little fusion cuisine and try out Asian-Middle Eastern blended dishes that you didn’t even know could coexist, and then wind down the day with some French haute cuisine! You’ll never want for dining options when you’re on your Panama vacation! Here’s a taste of what lies in store for you here.
A Taste of Panama
Panama has a rich cultural heritage, and you can find it on every corner. Unlike many other places that border this part of the Atlantic, you’ll find a wealth of beef dishes that fill you up without spending a bunch! Local restaurants will give you family style dining meant for 3-4 people, or generous portions that you might want to take home with you! Try out the fresh grown mangoes, papaya and passion fruit as well as the great desserts made from them! If you’re in the mood for a taste of the Caribbean, eat some fried plantains and fresh seafood straight off the boat.
The Best of Continental Cuisine
Continental Cuisine, or European Cuisine, is plentiful in Panama; one problem with it here though is it can cost you a pretty penny to indulge in it! If you’re really craving some authentic French, Italian or Spanish cuisine, hop over to one of the Caribbean islands for a day and you’ll be able to eat as much as you like for a decent price! If you want to check out what Panama has to offer, check out the resort hotels! When you’re a guest you’ll be able to eat here for free as part of your package and the dishes that the local chefs whip are quite great!
Fun Fusion
Fusion restaurants are all the rage in Panama, and people come here from all over the world to start restaurants; if you’ve ever wanted to try out strange but great dishes you’ll want to check out Panama’s fusion scene! You can ask your concierge at the resort you’re staying at which fusion restaurants are worth seeing… truth be told some of the restaurants can be really awful so you’ll want to ask around before you go out and eat! If you can’t find someone to ask, check online and see which have the best reviews!
Eating in Panama is an adventure, so make sure you get out there and explore everything that’s waiting for you. Check online and talk to people to find the best price, but make sure you walk around and see the little restaurants that aren’t listed too!
PANAMA NIGHTLIFE
If you’re looking for the best mix of live entertainment, dancing and plain fun, Panama nightlife is the place you want to be! Go salsa and merengue dancing all night long, and if you don’t know how to dance you can learn too! Enjoy Central American rhythms and walk along the beach at night with stars so close you can almost touch them. Go on pub crawls and see the best that Panama has to offer; the Capital City is the best place to find nightlife, while you’ll find a lot of smaller cities with their own little offerings. If you want a vibrant fun nightlife, stick with the capital. In Calle Uruguay and Viva Zona you’ll find the best bars and nightclubs, so make sure you make time to check them out when you’re here for your Panama vacation!
Party like a Rock star
Like mentioned earlier, Calle Uruguay and Viva Zona have the best clubs! Unlike some places you may have been before, Panama likes to pack its party districts pretty tight. You can walk a few feet from the doorway of one establishment to get to another, and the party regularly flows out right into the street. You will want to travel with groups just to stay on the safe side, so it can be a good idea to join up with a pub crawl. Pub crawls run about $20 to visit 20 different bars, and you’ll be able to explore the best of Panamanian nightlife and nix the fluff from your itinerary. Dance on glass dance floors and watch the party below, or just dance all night long! You can choose what party you’re going to be a part of, but most of all it’s YOUR choice, and Panama gives you a lot of choices!
Chill Out
If you’re looking for a more laid back time, you’ll find it here! A Panama vacation gives you so many ways to relax, but the lounge bars here can’t be missed. You can lay on relaxing couches under the stars with colorful drinks, listening to fresh tunes mixed by some of the world’s best live DJs. If you don’t want to be in a club all night, get out there on the beach and look up at the stars.
Resort Clubs
You’ll find these bars in the same districts as the party bars, but you’ll also want to check out what the resort hotels offer too. When you a guest of a resort, you’ll be able to drink as much as you like and party for free; if you want to visit a club outside of your resort in another resort, you may have to pay a small cover charge for great lounge and party bars, so keep your eyes open! If you’re going to visit a lot of different resort bars, see if you can get a party pass to keep your charges low (they’re usually $25-$35 a pass and can pay off within one night of partying).
