Sheraton Resort Vacations

Sheraton’s pedigree boasts a history of firsts which have transformed hotels into the visions of efficiency we expect of them today – way back in 1958, Sheraton unveiled the world’s very first automatic electronic reservations system. Dubbed the Reservatron’, it was quickly adopted by every other premier hotel chain in the world. In 1970, this visionary company became the first hotel chain to have its own toll-free number.

In 2006, Sheraton and Microsoft collaborated on what was then a revolutionary concept – the Link @ Sheraton, a re-imagining of the hotel lobby as a nexus of connectivity which allowed guests to work, relax, dine and interact like never before fast became the gold standard of the industry following Sheraton’s lead.

Not just in technology, Sheraton also boldly goes where others fear to tread geographically – it was the first international chain to enter the People’s Republic of China with the Sheraton Great Wall in 1985.

Sheraton has been recognized and feted for its unending commitment to the reinvention of the entire customer experience. Among the most prized of the many awards it has received are those for its dedication to sustainability, the environment and humanitarian causes.

In 2013, the Global Business Travel Association awarded Sheraton its Gold Medal in Sustainability which recognizes suppliers that integrate sustainability into their core business models and act as industry leaders and agents for change. The same year, it won the American Express award for Most Sustainable Supplier and in the previous year, the Environmental Leadership Award by PCMA, the global convention management association.

Sheraton has also received recognition from the Red Cross for its fundraising efforts for disaster relief and by UNICEF as its Partner of the Decade.

Simultaneously, Sheraton consistently makes the list of finalists in virtually every category of assessment by travel and leisure publications, including the respected Travel Weekly, Travel Age and Luxury Travel Advisor.

Sheraton features just as prominently in awards chosen by non-travel professionals. In 2014, it won Best Hotel Chain Worldwide as voted by readers of Travel Weekly. In the same year, Sheraton’s St. Regis Resort in Bora Bora was voted the very best hotel or resort of the world.

With an eye on the future as it always has and never one to rest on its laurels, Sheraton is launching a five year plan from 2016 that will again showcase the chain as a global leader. Sheraton 2020 is set to introduce a slate of new products and services and elevate the guest experience to even greater heights.

It seems now is the perfect time to live the Sheraton experience.
