The company was founded in 1995 and now has more than 7,000 employees working in locations around the world – making Bahia Principe one of the world’s biggest hotel chains. The brand is a division of the Grupo Pinero group; it all started with the opening of the Bahia Principe resort in San Juan, Dominican Republic. Despite being the first hotel to open under the company’s brand name, the Bahia Principe San Juan hotel remains one of their most popular resorts. Today, there are 24 five-star beach resorts in locations around the world and the company is committed to providing the highest standards of customer service to every guest that walks through its doors. Rooms are fitted to a high standard, with clean and comfortable beds and contemporary decor – making them popular with families and business travelers.

The brand has won a number of awards over the last 20 years. At the 2015 Crystal Apple Awards, the company picked up a huge 11 awards, as well as an achievement for the best all-inclusive family hotel (the honor went to the Bahia Principeresort located in Riviera Maya in Mexico).
