Going on Vacation and Not Packing on Extra Weight
If you are anything like me, when you go on a vacation there is a good chance that when you get back home you’ve brought back a little extra baggage besides the souvenirs you bought while on your trip. It seems like for me, whenever I go on a vacation I gain a couple pounds even though to me it doesn’t seem like I’m eating more as I do back home. On a recent all inclusive trip to the Riviera Maya, I must of easily gained over 5 pounds on my four day vacation. I know this may seem like a lot to gain but it is hard to say no to any type of food when it is included in the vacation package I paid for. I know that the last thing you want to worry about is gaining weight while on vacation but if you want to be healthy, theses are some things you need to consider.
One of the more easier ways to be healthy and not gain unhealthy weight while on vacation is to try and get as much exercise as you can. What I try to do when I go vacations now is booking a couple activities that allows me to walk around and get some exercise while getting the chance to do fun things. On a recent trip to Costa Rica, I booked a fun nature hike for me and my family and we had an absolute blast. Another thing that I did on this vacation that was able to get the heart pumping and also was fun was playing in the resort pool with my kids. No matter what destination you plan on visiting, there should surely be some fun activities you can tryout that allow you to get some exercise and is also fun.
Another important thing that you should try to do and I know isn’t something you want to is trying to get as healthy as possible. I’m sure I am like a lot of other people out there that have no interest in watching what I eat while on vacation. This is my time to relax and let loose and the last thing I want to worry about is what I eat. This is especially the case if you booked an all inclusive vacation like I mentioned before as usually the restaurants at the resort offer great food and you want to try it all. Even though I know it is difficult to do, if you don’t want to pack on some extra pounds from your vacation, you need to try your best and eat as healthily as possible.
With it being difficult to eat healthy on the go while on vacation, you can consider packing healthy snacks at home and bringing them with you on vacation. When traveling with my kids, I try and make sure I do this as this is a simple and cheap way to give my kids something to eat while we’re out doing different things. For types of snacks you can consider packing, they can be anything from nuts to different types of fruits.
