Best Activities to do in Hawaii during the Winter

Winter Activities Hawaii

When it comes to traveling to Hawaii, one of the best seasons to do this is during the Winter. If you live in an area where it is freezing cold, there’s nothing like getting off of the plane in Hawaii and enjoying the tropical weather. I guess the only bad thing about taking a vacation during this time are the prices, which can be very high during this time. During the Winter months, there are a lot of different activities that you can enjoy while on your vacation. If you have the chance to take a vacation to Hawaii during this time, here are some things you might want to checkout doing.

One activity that I loved when I was able to take a vacation in Hawaii during the Winter was visiting the North Shore. The North Shore is famous for places like Sunset Beach and Sharks Cove where you can sit back and enjoy an amazing setting. During the Winter time if you are able to visit the North Shore, you will get the chance to see some of the largest waves in the world. During the Winter months the waves here get even bigger with some being over 20 feet. To be able to sit there and see the power of these waves crashing into the beach was absolutely amazing. It does get busy here during the Winter months so if you get there later in the day you can expect to not find parking as well as sit in traffic.

Another popular activity to do in Hawaii during the Winter months especially if you are visiting around Christmas is to checkout Honolulu Hale. This is basically the states City Hall and it is decorated with all types of Christmas decorations during this time. I had a chance to visit the last time I was there and must admit that they go all out for the holidays. One fun thing you can do if you decide to visit here is to jump on a trolley or a horse carriage to see everything. I wasn’t able to try this out as we were short on time but it looked like it was a lot of fun.

If you are in Hawaii, another thing that you have to do is checkout one of the many popular beaches in the area. The great thing about Hawaii is the fact that there are so many to chose from that include spots like Waikiki Beach, Lanikai, Bellows as well as many others. Each beach has its own unique characteristics so when it comes to finding one that is the right fit for you, make sure you try some different ones out. My favorite beach has to be Bellows, which is located on the East side of the island. It’s located in a very secluded area and is also where the TV show Lost filmed.

The great thing about taking a vacation to Hawaii is the fact that there are so many great things to do that you will surely have a fun trip.
